Derek Blass

Derek Blass is the founder of Blass Law, LLC, a Denver-based litigation and business law firm dedicated to providing strategic, results-driven legal representation to individuals and businesses throughout Colorado. With nearly two decades of legal experience, Derek has built his practice on a simple philosophy: deliver aggressive advocacy, honest counsel, and exceptional client service.

Derek represents clients in complex business disputes, construction litigation, employment matters, contract disputes, insurance claims, corporate transactions, and other civil litigation matters. He also serves as trusted outside counsel to businesses, advising clients on contracts, risk management, corporate formation, and day-to-day legal issues to help them avoid disputes before they arise.

A graduate of Duke University, where he earned degrees in Economics and English, Derek received his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Since being admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2006, he has earned recognition for his legal excellence, including selection to Colorado Super Lawyers after previously being recognized as a Rising Star for more than a decade.

Before founding Blass Law, Derek was a partner at a national law firm, where he represented clients in high-stakes commercial litigation. Today, he combines the sophistication and courtroom experience of a large firm with the responsiveness and personal attention of a boutique practice. He has recovered millions of dollars for his clients and has successfully represented businesses ranging from closely held companies to established regional enterprises.
